Annual Meeting 2001 - Invitation

To all members of the German-Singaporean Lawyers Association

Dear members of the German Singapore Lawyers Association,

Pursuant to section 7 subsection 3 I would like to invite you on behalf of the board of our association to attend the Annual General Meeting of the association

on Wednesday, 26 September 2001, 1700 hrs.

I propose the following Agenda

1. Annual report of the board

2. Treasurer’s report of accounts

3. Auditor’s report

4. Granting of relief for board members

5. Election of auditors

6. Applications

7. Venue and date for Annual Meeting and Congress 2002

8. Miscellaneous

I would like to draw your attention to section 7 subsection 5 of the articles of association which provides that any applications to include further items in the agenda have to be received by the board two weeks before the annual general meeting at the latest, i.e. on or before 12 September 2001.

I would also like to draw your attention to a seminar “Singapur: The hub zu den Märkten Südostasiens” which will be held on 26 September 2001 from 1400 to 1700 hrs. in the same room as our annual general meeting organized by BAO Berlin International GmbH in conjunction with the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore, the EDB Singapore and Ostasien Verein. This seminar will be officially opened by our honorary member, H. E. Prof. Walther Woon, the Ambassador of Singapore to Germany. This makes us hope that Prof. Woon will also be able to attend our AGM.

The organisers of the seminar have agreed that our association will be given the chance to introduce itself and to give a brief presentation of the legal framework for setting up businesses in Singapore.

We are very pleased that our AGM can be held at the same day and location as the seminar which is probably the most important and high ranking function related to Singapore in Germany in 2001.

Finally, I would like to point out that the venue for our AGM has been provided free of charge courtesy of the Senate of Berlin. On a more personal note I would like to suggest that following the AGM the members of the association who are present should have dinner jointly.
